With over four decades in personal financial planning and investments, I've successfully navigated the complexities of personal finance management. My mission has always been clear: ensuring that financial concepts are accessible and actionable for everyone.
Many may know me from my first book, Bulls, Bears, & Basketball, where I translate the thrilling world of NCAA basketball into invaluable lessons on financial planning. Growing up in Indiana and cheering for the Hoosiers instilled in me not just a love for the sport but also a deep appreciation for the life and financial lessons they teach. This summer, I'm excited to release my second book, The Hoosier Financial Playbook, which uses sports analogies from Indiana University’s undefeated national championship football season to illustrate essential financial management concepts.
I am also deeply committed to my community. I proudly served on the founding board for Believe & Achieve, a scholarship program for kids in West Dallas, and actively engage in various roles within my church and local schools. Giving back energizes me as much as crunching numbers!
Beyond my extensive experience, I am a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a retired Certified Financial Planning professional (CFP) and a retired Certified Public Accountant (CPA). I hold a B.S. in Accounting from Indiana University (Hoo Hoo Hoosiers!) and a Master’s in Taxation from the University of Texas at Arlington.
